FAQ
How do I pronounce Soruhl?
Soruhl: /ˈsɒr(ə)l/, noun, derived from sorrel.
'So' sounds like the first syllable in the word 'sorry,' and 'ruhl' sounds like the last syllable in the word 'barrel.'
Soruhl is made from sorrel, so what is the sorrel flower?
Sorrel is a flower from the hibiscus family. Its scientific classification is Hibiscus sabdariffa. In Jamaica, the plant and the drink go by the same name. Traditionally, sorrel is a spiced tea that is enjoyed cold and tart to taste, with notes of ginger, orange, and spices.
If you Google the word 'sorrel,' you'll probably encounter common sorrel (Rumex acetosa) first, not to be confused with Jamaican sorrel (Hibiscus sabdariffa). Sorrel goes by many names globally - Bissap (Senegal), Roselle (North America), Flor de Jamaica (Latin America), and Karkadé (Egypt) - to name a few.
Where does the sorrel flower come from?
The sorrel flower was brought to the Caribbean — most likely from West Africa— and its culinary uses have been documented since the 18th century. You'll encounter many variations of this hibiscus beverage in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Pacific.
What does Soruhl taste like?
Soruhl’s distinct taste almost defies description. It has a tart, floral flavour that instantly evokes the warmth and vibrance of the tropics. It's as elegant as it is enjoyable.
How do I use Soruhl?
Soruhl, Soruhl Water and Soruhl Red are all ready to pour and enjoy drinks.
Soruhl Elixir can be enjoyed also as a long drink mixed with still or sparkling water and a twist of lemon, or add a likkle vibes to your favourite gin, rum or vodka cocktail.
We recommend a ratio of 1 part Soruhl Elixir to 4 parts water as the ideal beginner's blend. Of course, you can use more or less to suit your taste.
Soruhl is best served cold...and don't forget your garnish! A lemon slice or a sprig of mint should do the trick. You can also enjoy Soruhl Elixir warm, just like you would sip tea or mulled wine on a cosy winter day.
What's in Soruhl?
Soruhl is made from hibiscus (sorrel), ginger, orange, Jamaican spices, and cane sugar. Soruhl is all-natural and gluten-free.
Who can drink Soruhl?
Soruhl is non-alcoholic so the entire family can enjoy it. Soruhl does contain cane sugar, so portion control is an important consideration, especially for young children and adults living with diabetes.

Morning, noon, and night! Soruhl is great at any time of day, in any season, with any company. It goes down well all day, every day. In Jamaica, sorrel is synonymous with Christmas time but it is becoming a year-round favourite.
What's that 'stuff' at the bottom of the bottle?
That's pure organic sediment right there. That's how you know your Soruhl are made using real ingredients, not a bunch of artificial 'stuff' no one knows how to pronounce. All our products contain ZERO additives, enhancers, or preservatives.
To get rid of the sediment just give the bottle a good shake. Be sure to confirm that it's closed tightly to avoid spillage. After all, who wants to waste a single drop!
Why does my Soruhl have a different colour than last time?
The variation in colour is another good sign that your Soruhl is all-natural. The colour changes according to the season, which impacts harvest and the type of raw material we have access to. Regardless of any moderate variation in colour, we commit to delivering the same high-quality product in every bottle of Soruhl, right down to the very last drop.
What sweetener do you use?
Zero sugar or sweeteners in Soruhl water. We use cane sugar in Soruhl, Soruhl Elixir and Soruhl Red.
Remember Soruhl Elixir is a mixer, so you control how much goes into every drink.
